How can it help you?
We often hear of people presenting themselves at modern medical clinics with a range of symptoms that baffle the general and even specialist medical practitioners. Quite often the patient is told that medical tests cannot reveal any problem and that the illness does not amount to any known disease. Yet the patient knows he or she is unwell and that the symptoms are real.
In contrast, the name of a disease is not important in TCM, rather the TCM practitioner makes a judgment of the body's balance as a means of diagnosis since imbalance is the source of illness. No matter what kind of illness, so long as there are discernible symptoms, a relevant organ must have been affected and finding out which organ is in a state of imbalance is the essence of TCM diagnosis.
Because TCM does not cover the symptoms only but treats the causes of problems then often the symptoms are not relieved instantaneously as with painkillers and such pharmaceutical medications. Progress can often seem imperceptible, particularly with chronic conditions, but gradual and permanent relief of symptoms and their causes can be achieved with the cooperation of the patient. On the other hand, with acute conditions, relief can often be immediate and quite contrary to notions that TCM is always slow to show results.
Chinese Medicine is an effective form of preventative medicine because of its ability to detect and treat energy imbalances before they lead to disease. |
